In 2006, the founders of AirMobile realized the lack of
dynamic solutions addressing the risks and challenges
related to the increasing use of Wireless LAN technology.

Anticipating the needs of security managers for more insight
and control over the wireless networks, AirMobile developed the
mobile Wi-Fi scanning system that enables IT managers to
manage Wi-Fi security in an efficient and cost effective way.

In October 2008, the PCI (Payment Card Industry) released the
PCI DSS 1.2 directives which include Wi-Fi scanning
requirements. To comply with PCI DSS 1.2, the organizations
need to scan for wireless devices, regardless of whether or
not they have deployed a Wi-Fi network. Based on previous
experiences, there is a need to secure the CDE (Card Holder
Data Environment) from wireless threats. All locations must
be periodically scanned to eliminate wireless vulnerabilities.

To simplify PCI wireless scanning, AirMobile has released the
automated Wi-Fi positioning system to find and position
Wi-Fi devices in graphical maps.

AirMobile solutions can be purchased as a monthly
service or as perpetual system.
